It is important to know your Body Mass Index (BMI) which is a measurement of body fat based on height and weight. You can calculate it online at www.nhlbisupport.com/bmi (Natinal Institute of Health site)
BMI provides a reliable indicator of body fatness for most people and is used to screen for weight categories that may lead to health problems.
The standard weight status categories associated with BMI ranges for adults are shown in the following table.
